To start our SoTL in 60 series, we sit down with Oscar Jerez Yáñez, a global leader in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). Based at the University of Chile and heading its Teaching and Learning Centre, Oscar has advised more than 130 universities worldwide and co-created T&L centres in 40+ institutions across 20+ countries.
In this episode, we explore how SoTL moves from classroom practice to institutional reform, the unique challenges and opportunities of Latin American higher education, and the role that scholarly teaching plays in shaping policy, quality assurance and innovation in health sciences and beyond.
