A unique part of the MRU SoTL Symposium in Banff is Pop-up Poetry, developed to help conference participants distill and reflect their experiences in a most beautiful setting. Calgary-based poets Richard Harrison and Beth Everest set up their manual typewriters in a public space where participants are invited to sit down and chat. Richard and Beth, along with Michelle Yeo (a poet herself and the former director of the Mokakiiks Centre for SoTL) explore with me the idea of pop-up poetry as conference pedagogy.
