This anthology brings together poems, stories, photographs, and illustrations by immigrant seniors in Calgary, produced through the Community Initiatives for Immigrant Seniors Program (CISP) in collaboration with Mount Royal University faculty and students. Over twelve weeks, participants shared memories, expressed cultural traditions, and reflected on their journeys of migration and belonging. The collection highlights diverse perspectives on home, love, nature, and new beginnings, capturing the experiences of seniors building community and identity in Canada.
The book was produced through the Community Initiatives for Immigrant Seniors Program (CISP), a partnership between Immigrant Services Calgary and Mount Royal University, with support from Family & Community Support Services (FCSS). Over twelve weeks, seniors worked with professors, creative writing students, and practicum students to develop and refine their writing and artwork, highlighting diverse cultural perspectives and the ongoing experience of integrating into Canadian society.
